Our paper straws are recyclable together with normal paper and board. Recycling is not for every product made on Earth. Let us look at the properties of paper and how it is made.
Our paper straws are recyclable together with normal paper and board. Recycling is not for every product made on Earth. Let us look at the properties of paper and how it is made.
Using paper does not harm the environment – it helps!
Paper is made from specially planted for the industry trees. Between 2005 and 2015 forests in Europe have grown with 44 000 sq. m. – this is the area of more than 1500 football pitches each day!

Paper is one of the most recycled materials in the world and it could be reused up to 7 times!
Each second in Europe 2 tons of paper are recycled! The recycling rate in Europe is the highest in the world – 73% of the produced paper materials are collected and reused in the paper mills. The rest 27% is not possible to collect as they are materials for hygienic purposes.
So taking another sheet of paper to write on or bringing your lunch to work in a paper bag will not effect the environment.
If the paper does not get recycled it will degrade in nature in a matter of months!
In the environment, surrounding us, paper will biodegrade between 2 and 5 months.
Tin cans between 50 and 100 years.
Plastic bottles between 100 and 400 years.
Plastic bags between 500 and 1000 years.
Glass bottles over 1 million years.
We are not going to oversee some of the statistics I guess.
Most of the energy used in the paper making process is from renewable sources.
Energy used in the paper industry does not pollute air and the environment.
Paper industry provides jobs for million women and men in the world.
Millions of people are involved in the paper industry as managers, designers, engineers, machine operators and many more.
How can we help Nature?
Use paper packaging rather than plastic.
Separate your waste – paper, glass, plastic.
Respect the Planet and keep it clean!
Remember – the price for recycling the ever growing plastic mountains is NOT included in the price of the product you buy in the shop. Therefore plastic products are much cheaper than their alternatives made of paper. The responsibility for plastic’s proper collecting and recycling is ours!
